Anyone else obsessed with smoothies? I am totally trying new recipes or experimenting with current recipes and I simply can't get enough of all the creamy healthy goodness!
Seriously though, you guys need to take a peek in my refrigerator :). With Summer around the corner, I have been loading up on lots of healthy smoothies for my family and I. Nothing beats a thick rich packed with nutrients on a hot day or after an intense workout. Usually for my smoothies, I start out with a base ingredient based on my crave; like a banana and build around it. I mean the sky is the limit with smoothies! I am yet to hear of someone making a bad smoothie. Like seriously!!!!!!
Which brings me to this blog post. A raspberry blueberry banana smoothie with a twist. Yup, I also like a little spice -- life is too boring without that spice. Haha okay, enough of my writing and on with the recipe. I hope you try it and love it. I added cardamom to this recipe because it gives the smoothie an extra something and cardamom has so many health benefits: antioxidant, has diuretic properties which may lower blood pressure, may help with digestive problems, treat bad breath, among others.
What You Need
2 small bananas
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup blueberry
2 whole cardamom (you can start with 1 cardamom). I prefer a stronger taste
1-2 cups banana milk (almond milk or any milk works).
Note that how many cups depend on how thick or light you prefer the smoothie. For a thicker smoothie bowl, opt for less milk.
Blend all fruits with milk together. Optional to add ice. Top with raspberries and enjoy! If you try this recipe, please let me know.
