Make Everyday Count!
Everyday should start with a great morning routine. One that includes quiet reflective time, simple routines, and healthy habits. How you spend your morning can influence the rest of the day; so I try to have a routine every morning to help me get my day off to a great start!
Here are a few tips on how to jump-start your day! These simple routines can make a huge difference in your outlook each day.
1. PLAN TO WAKE UP EARLIER
2. ADOPT A MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE
Most mornings, there is a frenzy to get ready to start the day that taking the time for skincare can be one of the last things on a list. I have found that making time to incorporate a daily skincare routine in the mornings and evenings can be an enjoyable experience. Since I am all about essential oils and using close to natural products as possible with long lasting skin benefits, I rely on the doTerra essential skincare line. I do not always wake up with glowing skin but I have noticed using a toner when needed, my facial cleanser and cream can help my skin feel healthier.
3. HAVE A HEALTHY BREAKFAST
We all know the importance of breakfast...but not just any breakfast! I am a firm believer in having a healthy breakfast each morning. It does not take long to have a healthy bowl of cereal topped with fresh fruits, a warm bowl of oatmeal or porridge, toasted avocado with a side of egg whites, or a yummy smoothie bowl! They taste great and your body will thank you. For this post, I made a simple smoothie using fresh ingredients (1 banana chopped, 5 strawberries, 5 tablespoon of Bulgarian yogurt, flax seeds, oatmeal, and 1 tablespoon of blueberries). I added these ingredients to my VitaMix blender, and blended. It is quick and easy, and packed with delicious yumminess!
4. INCORPORATE AN EXERCISE REGIME
A few minutes of exercise in the morning works wonders on your energy levels throughout the day. I do not always find time to go to the gym so I have found other creative outlets like a quick brisk walk or jog outdoors, or a 10-minute workout video from the Simply Fit Board. My good friend Debra Diana introduced me to the Simply Fit Board and I have been addicted ever since! I love it because it is fun and simple! It is just about the right amount of exercise I need to keep my positivity up throughout the day. The best part is being able to do this in the comfort of my house (great during the winter months when it's too cold to step out).
5. PLAN YOUR DAY
Looking over your journal or checklist can help organize your thoughts and provides clarity to your day. It can prepare you mentally for the day ahead and prioritize the tasks that need to be completed. I usually have a to-do list that keeps me focused on my day's tasks. It does not always have to be a fancy diary, even typing your tasks in your phone can make a huge difference. Always tackle the quick tasks first to give you the motivational boost to continue.
